Three full-scale Pilots covering three different domains (higher education, transport and energy) will be active from project early stage. The three full-scale pilots brought by will cover the needs of a wide range of end-users, spanning students with a strong interest in building a career in cybersecurity to experienced IT experts who need to ensure they are properly equipped for a multi-faceted threat landscape.

Energy Generation and Distribution

This pilot will deploy advanced training modules, increasing the automation of training operations, while also making the training modules more effective by using gamification approaches.

The main purpose of the pilot is to validate new developments in training scenarios, introducing EDP’s knowledge of critical infrastructures and Cyber Range operations, which may then be adopted by other entities in their own environments.

Railroad Transport

The pilot will demonstrate the potentiality and the added value provided by the platform in a scenario of business and cybersecurity experts from the railroad transport domain. The cybersecurity team will use the platform to perform attack and defence scenarios, while business experts will use the platform to understand the threat posed to critical assets in monetary terms (cost of a business interruption, cost of a data breach, and cost of replacing a damaged logical asset).

Professional and academic training

The pilot will gather, along the project lifetime, around 40 trainees (undergrads, grads and post-docs), using the platform simultaneously. This pilot will focus on user experience and the scalability features of the platform. The diversity of the experiments that a university would require from elementary ones for BSc, through to more complex ones for MSc and post-graduated users, up to research-oriented for PhD students- will demonstrate the flexibility of the platform. In fact, a variegated set of experiments with the whole education chain will be performed as part of the pilot, providing valuable validation evidence and feedback.
